Background

Continuing the success of the 2022 series, the Hambleton clubs are coming together to continue a sustainable competitive environment built through the return to the pool in 2020.

Northallerton ASC (NASC) are hosting their existing club championships framework for all members of the Hambleton District to attend. The competition will take place over 2 weekends at Bedale Leisure Centre.

The decision has been made to continue to run the competition at Bedale Leisure Centre inline with NASC’s original license application based on the following reasons:

The license has already been approved
The pool has the ability have electronic timing installed
The venue has spectator space
New starting blocks have been installed at the centre

The Competition

The first Hambleton District Championships will be run as a Level 4 Licensed meet. Suitable for entry into low level competition and county championships

Competition Layout

Weekend 1 – 10th/11th/12th November 2023

Weekend 2 – 24th/25th/26th November 2023

The majority of events in competition will run as Heat Declared Winner (HDW)
Purple events are run with finals. These will be broken down into club level
Warm up for each session will run from for the first 40 minutes of the session advertised. This is subject to change inline with entry volume. This will be broken down by age group.

- 11-12
- 13yrs+
Warm up timings will be confirmed after the entry deadline for each weekend of competition. Warmups may be adjusted to allow for a varying number of entries.
The expected finish time for each competition is 5.30pm
There will be an interval before the 25m Finals
All swimmers must be CAT1 or CAT2 registered with one of the 3 Constituent Clubs
All constituent clubs are expected to support in roles on the day of the competition
Age is taken on 31st October 2023 for the District Championships. Club level competitions may be awarded at a different date point.

Spectator Tickets

Tickets for the event will be sold online at £3 per afternoon. Links to purchasing tickets are below. There are a maximum of 110 tickets available per session. Friday evening sessions will have no spectator charge

Weekend 1

Tickets will be available from 1st November @ 9pm through to the 11th November @ 10am. There is a limit of 90 spectator spaces available.

Awards

Awards will be presented to the top 3 on the day across all the Hambleton clubs, as as normal open level competition. These awards have been supported by Hambleton District Council.

Events with finals (25m) will be awarded to the top 4 overall from each club.

Clubs have drawn together their own framework for ‘club level’ awards, which is detailed below.

Documentation

Entry details

Entries will be gathered online alongside entry payments. There is a strict entry deadline of Thursday 9th November 2023 for all clubs for Weekend 1.

Additional entries may be accepted for Weekend 2 by Thursday 23rd November 2023. This condition is subject to the gala not being oversubscribed.

In the event that the competition becomes ‘full’ additional pool time will be sought by the event organisers with the support of Hambleton District Council.

After the entry deadline has passed no refunds will be processed unless accompanied by a medical note.

Paper based entry forms are not permitted. On the day amendments/poolside entries will not be accepted.
